Pilates Training: I started learning about Pilates from Michele Larson, during a mixed dance/pilates class in the early 80s. I suffered a back injury while dancing and in 1985 went to St Francis Hospital, the first hospital to offer Pilates within their dance medicine division. Pilates healed my back injury and I was able to resume dancing professionally. That experience inspired me to become a Pilates teacher, a journey I began under the direction of Jennifer Stacey. I finished my formal training with Ellie Herman in 1999. I completed The Masters Program at The Pilates Center of Boulder in 2012. I am an advanced MELT Instructor and have studied the Janda Method of Neuro Muscular Re-Education.

Favorite Non Pilates Indulgence: Gorging on TV shows like Broad City, Louis, Transparent and sooo embarrassing…Call the Midwife.

What Would You Be If You Weren’t A Pilates Instructor: I would be a doctor. I am a bit of a medical junkie; I love reading the mystery disease column in the NYT. Or, maybe a musician, I love playing music with my family.

Pilates Training: Quilet was a professional dancer for 17 years and former member of ODC dance company, Parsons Dance, and TRIP Dance Theatre among others. She experienced the rehabilitative benefits of Pilates while recovering from a dance injury. This inspired her to dive right in and become a Pilates instructor. She studied the Classical Pilates Method with Pilates Education Lab under Carol LeMaitre and Sharon Gallagher. To complement her enthusiasm for healthy movement, she is also a Certified Franklin Method Level I Educator. She incorporates the Franklin Method’s focus on dynamic imagery to create awareness, embody functional movement, and therefore facilitate change from the inside out.
